Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

A specific item can be used to transform certain Pokemon. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's picture disc and is sometimes offered as a reward during Pokemon GO events.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to provide attribute bonuses or other effects while using the equipment. The item being upgraded must have an available upgrade slot to accommodate the component. Most upgrade components require the item to be upgraded to be at an amount. Some upgrade components also have special visual effects when they are applied to an equipment piece. Upgrade components can be acquired through crafting, purchased from karma merchants or exchanged with other players on the Trading Post, salvaged from equipment, or as rewards during games.

There are various upgrade components, each with distinct bonuses. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions are able to be applied to any type of equipment. They provide fewer bonuses than other types of upgrade component. Infusions can be utilized on non-amulet and legendary ascended items, while enrichments can be used on some back equipment that is ascended. Most upgrade components can be replaced when they are slotted into an item, but doing so destroys the previous upgrade. The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and Enchantments, which can be removed and then reinserted.

Insignias, enchantments, and prefix/suffix upgrades will appear in the hover display of the item, and they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia could change the name into Radiant Tyrian Armor). The tooltip of an item will display the number of upgrade components that have been added to it.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to add functional and decorative elements to an OpenType font. These include ligatures, fractions or ornaments, as well as registered trademark symbols, ellipses and swashes as well as swashes. The Glyphs panel lets you see and insert these particular characters as well as standard glyphs such as em dashes and en dieshes, registered trademark symbols and glyphs that do not appear in other fonts (such as dingbats).

Once a Glyph has reached level 15, it can be upgraded using the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board increases by one node each 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.

Once a glyph has been leveled up to the desired level you can activate it by selecting it, then clicking the "enchant" button. The resulting glyph will give its stated benefit and increase the number of nodes in its range on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be placed where they will benefit your build the most. This is why you should consider Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. The glyphs that are rare may offer dual bonuses if certain conditions are met and therefore are worth checking out for.

If you're having difficulty finding a specific glyph, click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to display the panel in a variety of views. Each of these views will display the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow down the selection of glyphs by choosing an option under "Entire Font". For example, punctuation is only displayed in punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limit the options to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling
