Item upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of the base. While this is generally a good thing but it can also have negative effects as well. In the case of items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the arrows that are circling. This will reroll an item and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get out of each point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and mastered the fountain in question you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you're looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For  item upgrader  could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a few friends.

You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also unlock some perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have a few upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to let you get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are  item upgrading  of potions, each with different effects and durations. There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display. The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and refills the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. Trinkets

If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they are no longer useful and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
